Great Personalities of Kamsar

Under this page we shall try enlisting all of the great personalities of Kamsar. This is an earnest attempt of KBF Team to create awareness about these great personalities who have contributed lot to the development of Kamsar and its people. This page is still under development. We would be adding more personalities, in sha allah !

Janab Deputy Mohammad Syed Khan

If someone to be remembered first for educational revolution in Modern Kamsar then it would be none other than Late Jb. Deputy Mohammad Syed Khan sb. He had always tried uplifting the educational standard of Kamsar-O-Bar throughout his life. He was born in year 1894 in historical village Usia. He was kind hearted, down to earth and soft spoken. After completing his B.A. (Hons.) from Presidency College with first division, he joined Patna College, Patna as a lecturer. Honorable Jaiprakash Narayan was his student. Later, he was appointed as a Deputy Collector in Hajaribad of Bihar.

It was his tireless efforts and sacrifices which proved to be the boon for society and spread the light of education in Kamsar. In 1938, he established Muslim Rajput High School at Dildar Nagar. In 1949, Rajput High school became Muslim Rajput Inter college. Rajput Inter College name got again changed in 1969 and renamed as Syed Kamsar-O-Bar Muslim Inter College, Dildar Nagar (S.K.B.M. Inter Collage, Dildar Nagar). He died in 1966 and got buried in Patna. May Allah grant him peace and highest place in Paradise.

There is very famous story about Dy. Syed Sb.:
When he was posted as Dy. Collector in Hajaribagh, Bihar, in the same period Mahatma Gandhi was arrested by British Govt. in Hajaribad and Gandhiji appeared before him for a bail. British senior officer advised him not to give the bail to Gandhiji but Dy. Syed was pure nationalist and honest officer, when he did not find any criminal record against Gandhiji then he granted bail to him. As a result British officer called a meeting and miss-behaved with Dy. Syed which he couldn’t tolerated and replied strongly to that officer in the same meeting. Therefore, that senior officer suspended him. He appealed against the decision of this senior officer to the Governor of Bihar. Coincidentally the same officer became Governor of Bihar later then he realized his mistake and called Dy. Syed sb. , apologized to him and restored his job. But in his decision he wrote a word that Dy. Syed shall never be given promotion in his career. It was his one of the great quality that in most of the cases he was used to make the settlement. On 15th August 1947 when India got independence then Politician Shri Jaiprakash Narayan who was the student of Dy. Syed Sb. tried promoting him but he refused saying that it’s not good and desirable that a teacher shall get the promotion from his student. Then Bihar Govt. brought this matter in legislative assembly (Bidhan Sabha) and passed the order stating that he should be given the post of a special Dy. Magistrate till he wanted to serve.

Dy. Syed sb. has devoted his entire life for the welfare and happiness of the people of Kamsar. He always thought above the caste and creed, low and high, poor and rich. He has always dream for the educational advancement of Kamsar. He was used to say that no community, society or region can progress until its educational standard is improved and quality education is made accessible and under the reach of every common people.

Janab Khan Bahadur Mansoor Ali Khan

Late Janab Khan Bahadur Mansoor Ali Khan was D.T.S. (Divisional Traffic Superintendent) in railway. He was the first in kamsar who got higher education, got good job and spent a happy life. He was a very famous personality of kamsar and notably known for leading a movement with the name of "Anjuman Islah Kamsar-o-Bar" in 1910 which was basically an anti dowry movement in Kamsar. May Allah SWT grant him highest place in paradise.

Late Jb. Khan Bahadur Mansoor Ali sb. was born in village Gorasara. Kamsar-O-Bar is a soil of brave people but people had hardly any relation with education in his period. The people from kamsar were either doing farming or doing a job in Bengal Police. Since majority of the Muslims were converted from Hindu, still they were following the Hindu rituals. Their function of celebration and sadness were similar to Hindus. They were used to spend so much unnecessarily in these functions which resulted them in making pauper. In walima it was a custom to feed more than 1000 people and provide more than 100 sets of cloths to the girl.

Then Jb. Khan Bahadur Mansoor Ali Khan was a great reformer who took initiative for a social reform of Muslim community in Kamsar. He traveled village to village, organized heads of villages, settled their disputes, faced lots of criticism within the community. When social structure seems to be cracking, old people started opposing him. Sometime he lost the patience due to this opposition but again he was used to stand firmly with Islah. At the end, by the grace of allah he succeeded. Because of Khan Bahadur Mansoor Ali Khan sb.'s sacrifices and dedication "Anjuman Islah Kamsar-O-Bar" came into existence in 1910. Mansoor Ali Khan sb. died in 1934.

Janab Haroon Rashid (Alig): The man who brought an 'Inquilab'

Janab Haroon Rashid belonged to the historical village of Usia, Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh and was born on 31st May 1942. He was easily one of the foremost educational reformer and Urdu journalist of his time. He passed away on 4th March 2000 in Bombay and he was the Editor of Urdu daily Inquilab at that time. It was during his reign as an Editor at Inquilab, that a so called cosmopolitan city like Bombay and a city that was experiencing a steady decline in Urdu readership, the circulation of Inquilab grew to nearly 40000 copies. On his demise, there were condolence messages right from Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then prime minister, to the not so well-known social workers in the interiors of Maharashtra. He also was the author of two books; Mera noor-e-basirat aam kar do & Humne bhi Iran dekha hain.

His mission: Education and the subsequent socio-economic upliftment of Muslims.

He was a man with a mission. A firm believer in Sir Syed Ahmed's policy of getting Muslims educated, he used to travel the length and breadth of Maharashtra exhorting the virtues of books and pens. He used to place special emphasis on the education of girls and delivered several lectures stressing its importance. He used to give prominent display to news items pertaining to educational achievements of Muslims. His columns and writings were very popular among the masses and he never used to miss a chance to laud the achievements of Indian Muslims in any field.

It is to the credit of Inquilab and Haroon Rashid that Muslims in Maharashtra got drawn to education in a big way. Students from Urdu-medium schools now regularly feature in the merit list and are going for higher education. He used to be in regular touch with school principals, activists and educationists and discuss ways and measures to get more Muslim children into schools.

His personality: Stylish, Smart & Sophisticated

Haroon Rashid had a towering personality and did not suffer fools gladly. Widely travelled and well read, he had a passion for collecting watches. He had hundreds or maybe thousands of books in his personal library. Sadly, he lost his collection when his house was burned down in the 1993 Mumbai riots.

Haroon Rashid also became immensely popular due to his oratory skills as much as his writings. He was stylish, smart, sophisticated and knew how to keep his reader and audience engaged. Whether you understood Urdu or not, if you listened to him, he would leave you spellbound. He was a much sought after speaker and would get the audiences enthralled by his fiery speeches.

He did his schooling from Anjuman Islam High School, Bombay and went to Aligarh Muslim University for further studies. He did his M.Sc. from AMU and was there from 1964 to 1974. When he came back to Bombay, he preferred to be called Haroon Rashid instead of Haroon Ismail Khan (Ismail Khan was his father’s name), his birth name. He was inspired by the famous Caliph and also thought Haroon Rashid was trendier. His major break was the weekly Urdu Blitz where he used to write on sports and later rose to become its editor. After Blitz, he joined Inquilab in the year 1995, where with his passion for journalism he took it to greater heights.

KBF Account closure -Session 2010-2011

By Jawed Akhter Khan

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh

First of all I pay my sincere gratitude to almighty ALLAH for granting a proud successful completion of our first session. I congratulate the entire team of KBF for investing their precious time, money and efforts for this tremendous achievement. This victory was not easy as we all know that we have faced many hurdles on ground while executing this project. But ultimately we have achieved a successful end, Alhamdulillah.

I am pleased to share the last financial report for this session 2010-2011 upon closure of the first session on 05th May 2011. The attached financial statement contains all the expenses and profit we received over the last one year while running our career and coaching guidance cell at Dildar Nagar. We have provided the maximum details in attached report in order to make it clearer and transparent but still if any of the registered members have a query, please feel free to revert back.

I am thankful to all those who have contributed to forum in form of moral support, money, time, and valued suggestion and unending support. We may not have successfully completed this project without your generous contribution. No matter how much, whether small or big was the contribution but it really matters to us and we sincerely applaud everyone’s efforts.

It will be unjust if, we did not pay our sincere and special thanks to Khalid Ameer sb for his marvelous and candid support to this movement of education throughout the year. In spite of his busy schedule, he extended his consistent guidance to the academic staff, which create an atmosphere of excellence in education and awareness. It will be unfair, If we did not acknowledge the efforts of Mumtaz Ansari sb , who in spite of his very busy schedule, he shown his courage and extra ordinary dedication towards community upliftment by teaching our students for the university preparation for a complete month . They have not only taken the classes at CGC free of cost but also dedicated their time and efforts in encouraging the students time to time. May Allah reward them for these genuine efforts.

Also, I would like to pay my special thanks to all chair holders for their sincere efforts in making the entire program a success. They were the one who were engaged in day to day activity in execution of the CGC. I feel fortunate to have a connoisseur guidance and consistent suggestion from respected Professor Dr. Sheikh shafiullah sb ( Ex-Chairman Dept of chemistry, AMU –Aligarh ) , Jb. Badrul Haq Khan Sb , a man who have a huge experience of social services and a known social worker. We are indebted to the suggestion and moral support received from Jb. Mohd Mukhtar Ansari Sb(Interlocutor J& K ) and Jb. Mohd Wajir Ansari sb ( ADG –Police) and also thankful to all other members who have contributed to forum directly or indirectly.

I would like to bring into your kind attention that some of our dedicated members have not only contributed by giving the membership fees but they have gone a step ahead and put some extra hard earned money in forum as and when required which has not been recorded in this statement as these gentlemen have asked us not to mention. We are highly indebted for such a generous contribution.

You know that money contributed in form of membership fees is annual and members need to renew their membership every year in forum. All members shall be notified on the expiry of their membership based on the date they have joined the forum.

Thanks & Regards,

AMU X+II examination conducted

By Dr. Ehtsham Hussain Khan

Seencha hai Isey Humney Apney Khooney Jigar Sey...
Tab Jaakey is Rang Kaa Maikhaana Banaa Hai...
(Sir Syed Alehe rahmaah )

We were extremely distressed and genuinely concerned over the worsening situation of AMU affairs. AMU OLD boys all over world have expressed their resentment & strongest condemnation to all concerned authorities who tried to settle their personal vengeance, rivalry & whims using a very small factions of disgruntled elements. Allahmdollailh, University conducted the X+II entrance test examination successfully today at various centers in India as scheduled.

Indeed, there was a hidden excitement all over the day as our CGC Students appeared in the AMU entrance test today. Most the students have chosen the center as Patna where as one of the student got AMU as a center. I took the feedback regarding the trend of exam paper, students and teaching staff told me that Physics question paper was difficult as usual. Other subject like Biology and Chemistry was acceptable but GK was also difficult. I do not know what will be the result of our students as they are the external students. Some of the professors at AMU briefed me that external student has done very well, those who did High school from Delhi Public school, Our lady of fatima and others reputed convent school.

Now time has come to make a dua for our students' success as this will be the success of KBF and its members. I again have a high hope from Allah swt that our students will be selected for X+II.

Successful Closure of CGC First Session

A Successful Closure of CGC-Session 2010-2011

By Mohammad Shahanshah Ansari

It is a matter of great satisfaction and sense of accomplishment that we have successfully completed the first batch at CGC, Dildar Nagar yesterday on 5th May 2011. We all know that KBF was launched on 4th May 2010 wherein we have initiated our first program in form of career and coaching guidance cell at Dildar Nagar on 20th November 2010. This program was first of its kind in history of Kamsar where people from diverse background gathered under a single roof just for the community empowerment.

Our major achievements: (04th May 2010 – 05th May 2011)

1. We have successfully run this forum for one full year and first program i.e. CGC for almost 6 months without any lagging in our activities. The first admission test for CGC was conducted on 7th November 2010 at SKBM Inter College followed by another two admission tests at two major schools of Kamsar i.e. SKBM and Bara Inter College on 14th Nov. 2011. Total 198 students of X class (Science Stream) had participated in the admission test against 30 seats available at CGC. CGC was inaugurated on 18th Nov. 2010. We had students enrolled at CGC from around 15 villages of Kamsar from both Hindi and English medium.

2. There were around 12 teachers at CGC which includes 4 expert teachers who conducted the classes at CGC on regular basis. On average there was 50-60 classes taken at CGC every month. In this short period we have not only completed the entire course for 10th Class but also successfully completed the syllabus of AMU, BHU and Jamia’s Entrance exam.

3. We have spent around Rs. 1, 50,000 in successfully completing the first session on 5th May 2011 wherein 65% of the expenses went in the payment of our teachers and rest was used in building the resources at CGC. We have more than Rs. 50,000 left in hands from the collection we did for the first session.

4. We have built all the necessary equipments which are used in daily functioning of the CGC. These resources include Library, Computer, Printer, Scanner, Internet, Tables and Chairs, Inverter and Fans etc. We have registered official website for forum.

5. We have conducted parents meeting, students meeting and teachers meeting at regular intervals at CGC and motivated our students and teachers time to time as our core member’s visited Kamsar. We have continuously coordinated with teachers and staffs in order to complete the course materials.

6. Today we have around 300 people from Kamsar who are connected with us and are part of our Google Forum. These members are settled in different parts of the world. Majority of them are NRIs and are from different background, highly educated and well settled in their life.

7. We have one permanent paid staff at CGC to look after day to day activities at CGC. Also, we have a project manager as well as local coordinator for CGC. We have continuously monitored the progress at CGC even being outside Kamsar.

There is no doubt this was one of the toughest task to handle this project remotely as the core committee is not in Kamsar. But by the grace of Allah SWT we have managed it successfully in spite of many challenges we faced on ground. It was the continuous dedicated support of our core members on ground that made all this happen and ease the execution.

So these are the major milestones we have achieved in this short span of time. Students are appearing in various entrance tests starting from 8th May 2011. We are expecting a better result in their Board exam as well as entrance tests. Let’s we all pray for their success. We have provided them best available resources. Insha’Allah we will get a satisfactory result.

We are thankful to all our volunteers, core members, staffs and dedicated chair holders. We are hoping the same kind of support from our members in our future projects too. We will soon start planning for the next session which is likely to start in August 2011 and other activities under KBF. Insha’Allah.
